Music Disciple collects minimal information to provide our biblical music analysis service:

• Music Account Information: We access your playlists through read-only permissions (Apple Music MusicKit) to analyze song content. We store your music provider user ID and display name.
• Analysis Data: We process song lyrics and metadata for biblical analysis. Results are cached to avoid reprocessing.
• Account Information: Basic profile data needed to maintain your account, preferences, and subscription status.
• Usage Analytics: Usage data (pages visited, features used) tied to your account ID to improve our service. We do not send your email or name to analytics providers. Analytics only activate after you consent via the cookie banner.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Provide biblical analysis of your music content
• Maintain your account and analysis history
• Process payments for premium subscriptions
• Improve our analysis accuracy and service quality

We never sell your data, share your listening habits, or use your information for advertising.

Third-Party Services

Music Disciple integrates with the following services:

• Apple Music: Authentication and playlist access via MusicKit. We request read-only permissions to your library playlists.
• OpenAI: Song lyrics are sent to OpenAI's API for biblical analysis. Lyrics are processed but not stored by OpenAI for training.
• Stripe: Payment processing for premium subscriptions. We do not store your payment card details.
• Sentry: Error tracking to help us fix issues quickly. No personal data is included in error reports.
• PostHog: Product analytics tied to your account ID (not your email or name) to understand how the service is used and improve it. Only activated with your consent.

Data Retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active.
• Analysis results are cached indefinitely to avoid reprocessing costs.
• Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days.
• Canceled subscription data is retained for a limited period to allow re-subscription at preserved pricing.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Delete: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data through your account settings.
• Export: Request an export of your analysis data.
• Revoke: Revoke music provider access permissions at any time through your Apple Music account settings.
